Blackcane molasses, known as blackstrap molasses, is extracted from the third boiling of sugarcane juice, and is a rich source of nutrients missing in white sugar such as iron, magnesium, manganese, calcium, potassium and chromium (see nutritional facts). It can be eaten directly or as a sweetener. It has a distinctive flavor and mild bitterness.
